Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.


The M2_1 slot supports PCIe type SSD and the M2_2 slot supports SATA type SSD.
Regarding your Crucial SATA M.2 SSD, please install it to M2_2 slot and also make sure the SATA3_3 is unoccupied.

About the CPU temperature, it is normal behavior since the CPU under BIOS setup is working on Full Speed so that it will get higher CPU temperature.
We suggest monitoring the CPU temperature under OS environment when system is idling.
 
If you'd like to cooling the H/W component, please adjust the CPU/Chassis fan to Full Speed under BIOS setup.

I went into the BIOS and check that everything was being detected. 
All parts are new, however the Crucial M.2 SATA SSD wasn't being detected.

Also, the board was reading temperatures of initially just under 60 degrees Celsius with 1600X, and kept slowly climbing.

I am afraid my board will cause problem.
