I did the same and it's working now. Of course, now I don't need it quite as much anymore, but it should still help and hopefully will help someone else in the same situation. Incredible that noone at ASRock could figure this out or cared enough to share the info. This company has repeatedly failed to impress me with their products and support, and I'll definitely be looking elsewhere for future builds because of it. Anyway, thanks again!

    Author: vertigo
Subject: 7802
Posted: 26 Sep 2019 at 9:58am

I have to say, I like the feature sets and price of ASRock boards, but this is my second one and both have had stupid BS issues (not to mention my current one had a SATA port fail within months). And of course, support is completely useless.

I can't even fathom why they designed it with the requirement of this utility, since AFAICT it's not necessary, and only adds an extra step and complication, something which has caused me a significant amount of wasted time, initially when I didn't even know about it, and just today when I spent a few minutes trying to figure out why the BlueTooth icon wasn't in the system tray before realizing it was due to this. And of course, not only did they build in this stupid requirement, but then they didn't even bother to add some sort of config or at the very least arguments that could be passed to the exe. So, I've been unable to find any way to do this "properly."

The only way I can think of to do this, though I haven't done it (yet), is with AutoHotKey. On startup, the WiFi Utility exe (C:\ASRock\Wifi\WiFiConnector.exe on my system) needs to be run twice, with a pause of at least a few seconds in bewteen. This could be done either entirely by an AHK script or by running it once through normal means then again with AHK. The second time it's launched, since it's already running, causes a window for it to open. Of course, it's in the background, so it needs to be switched to, which can be done with Alt+Tab in the AHK script, followed by a tab to switch to the "ON" button, space to press it, then Alt+F4 to close the window. This will cause the adapter to be enabled but the icon for the utility will go away, so there will be no visual indication that it's enabled, but your keyboard, as well as connecting to WiFi, should work at that point. A very messy solution, but better than nothing I suppose.

To ASRock: GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND FIX THIS!! At this point, it's highly unlikely any of my future computers will use ASRock boards.

PS: I love how they put the "Clear Form" button to the right, where you would expect the "Post Reply" button to be, and with no confirmation no less. Idiots.
