Intel ME is just some backdoor management low level stuff and things that a regular end user needs ME for is slim to none. It also puts an annoying yellow bang in device manager if you don't have the driver installed.

I either just slipstream latest driver into the OS install media, or right click device > update driver > point to folder with ME driver and install it that way so I don't need to install the rest of the intel bloat that comes with it (the driver itself is less than 1MB but the crap Intel gives you is like 60MB). Latest version is 11.7.0.1067 and can be found on station-drivers.com (they are WHQL certified)

Yes i would probably get the updated drivers, the general order of install is what i was after, and i just realized the inf is the chipset driver. It's a long time between builds, tend to forget.

I've had IME disabled on my current z77 machine for a long time. I don't even remember what it does. I remeber installing it and later read what it was and though i didn't need it. I;lls til double check on that in light of the current landscape. Anyway, thanks again.

Download the drivers from your MB's page at ASRoc k first.

The Driver CD is full of OUTDATED drivers and utilities.

Yes

There will be a driver CD included with the motherboard. Yes it best to install the Chipset INF first, then Intel Rapid Storage OR Intel Optane UI/driver (depends on your hardware) then IME driver (ONLY if you need it!). After that install Asmedia, Video, LAN, Bluetooth and Audio drivers.
I have yet to see a system that actually gains performance from installing the IME despite Intels claim it will, and some companies are now adding a disable in BIOS for the Management Engine.
Hopefully someone will correct me and explain why if I am wrong about the need for IME to not be installed.

Hi people.

So, i've got my parts for my new system with 8700k and Fatal1ty K6, and  i am about to make the leap to Win 10 after clinging to Win 7 all this time. I will be running my own custom version of Win 10 64 LTSB, don't know if that matters, but, i have a fully updated iso to march 2018 integrated 14393.2125.

What i would like to ask is, what is the cleanest install procedure / order with all this Intel ME stuff and or depending on the bios version that shipped with my board, which i do not know yet.

If it turn out to be 1.1 or something do i need to worry about the bios first due to the intel stuff? Or can i install my Windows and all the chipset drivers ect and update the bios after?

I usually just build the thing, put the cd in and install the mobo drivers one by one, starting with chipset, lan, video, and then sound / realtek as i usually go directly to realtek for their driver. I don't install any apps or extras ect.

It is my understanding thus far, that bios past 1.3 for z370 already has the bios part of the equation? And my windows version has the windows side integrated. Is that ll i need to do?

Also, if there is no install disk with all the drivers, and i need to sort through the download section, i am unsure of the order i need the asmedia sata driver, and the inf driver, where and when those go into the equation.
