How is the PC doing after you made the changes? What memory are you using and why is the memory overclocking bad? Update on the situation.

I think I know what caused the problem. It was the C-states, that was the only thing I changed in the bios settings recently.

Seeing that a lot of people are having problems with the Z370 Extreme4 mobo, I think Asrock should make a bios update.

I personally have 2 settings I can't use.

1) AVX offset (because it downclocks the CPU even on non AVX loads) 
2) C-states cause system instability

A third problem would be the Memory overclocking. In my opinion it's very bad.

Check your Windows Update history, there may have been something updated before the last time you shut down that caused the UEFI to quirk.

Hello,

I'm using my PC with overclock for 1 month with no issues at all. Here's the config:

8700k 4.8GHz all cores / 4.4 Ring Clock
Asrock Z370 Extreme4
G-skill TridentZ 2x8GB Cl16 3200MHz

Vcore: 1.205 V peak 1.216
DRAM: 1.384 V peak 1.392
VCCIO: 1.120 V peak 1.128
VCCSA: 1.136 V peak 1.144
VCCST: 1.144 V peak 1.152

No AVX offset

The system is fully stable with peak temps around 82ºC for AVX stress test loads on air cooling, no delid. Also, no WHEA errors for the entire month that I'm using.

A few hours ago, I tried turning the PC on and nothing was happening. The motherboard lights were on, but it was as if there was no power connected. So, I turned the PSU off, cleared CMOS, and the PC turned on again. Luckly I had my bios settings saved on a profile. Everything is the same as before, except that a few settings were lost on the logitech mouse software and the windows clock was showing a 2am (I remember turning the pc off around or before 2am) instead of 11am (correct time)

What possibily happened here?
