Currently on bios 4.60

Noticed slightly less stutter/hickups while gaming.

Still doing my previously stable settings.

Doing my same method as in the second post. I Lowered my XMP to 2800 mhz instead of 2933.

This again makes Killing Floor 2 NOT throttle/stutter. And voltages decreased to an Minimum of 0.812 V and a Max of 1.294-1.300 V Depending on which sensor i read.

I Lied. Without setting a Fixed GPU clock i do get a throttle in killing floor 2.

Also since last reboot i seemed to have lost my XMP profile. It did a 5-10 boot-loops before booting properly.

I want to point out that it boosts to 1.4x v. It idles at 0.8v.

Anyway i dont get any throttles with my current settings.


As for temps it wont go past 65c with Killing Floor 2, Overwatch or CS:GO. Using the AM4-only Nocta NH-a9 with and additional 120mm noctuafan just above it.
I have yet to stresstest as i dont trust this APU and Bios in its current state. Although GPU load hits 100% according to HW-monitor.

Same setup with my ryzen 1600 i had low temps and voltages. Very stable. Yes, so before I check, I reset UEFI from jumper to default, and just set the memory speed to XMP then to 3200MHz for the sake of it (I run 3333MHz usually) and disabled turbo, saved and rebooted, then I ran IBT with AVX at maximum stress 
You can see the CPU voltage in the screenshot (right click open image in new tab for full resolution)
The GPU part will throttle if you try to load both the GPU and CPU 100% it will go in burst to 200MHz, try CS:GO or any game that stresses both the GPU and CPU at max, I get less throttle with turbo off, but they still occur in CS:GO for example every 10 seconds I get a spike and the GPU drops to 400MHz with turbo off, or 200MHz with turbo on.
I haven't seen the CPU throttle at all, just the GPU for me, I use an AIO and temps dont go over 65C even with 4150MHz @ 1.45V

It peaks at 1.4 with Core performance boost it was over 1.5 with no OC.

I notice no throttle with turbo of. I can suggest setting GPU memory allocation to 64MB, Windows/Linux can manage very well the memory allocation, and you free yourself that precious and currently expensive RAM :)
Throttle will still occur on the GPU side with Turbo disabled until the UEFI's with 1.0.0.2a will be released , but its a little more tolerable.
The CPU voltage should drop to about 1.20-1.25V when Turbo is disabled not stay in the 1.4-1.45V range.
IF you search my posts I explained there that there is nothing you can do to stop the downclocking of the GPU, its a AGESA and SMU firmware bug, confirmed even by AMD, AGESA 1.0.0.2a will fix these issues as AMD reports.
So I can suggest just leave turbo off until new UEFI's arrive.

So after days of testing i've come to one semi-stable solution.


1: Clear CMOS

2: Activate Asrock Settings and XMP.

3: Reboot and verify that XMP profile is active.

4: Enter BIOS, Set OC-mode to AMD CBS. Turn of Core Performance Boost. Make an automatic fan profile. (extra check to see that timing for DRAM dont revert to auto)

This will result in:

CPU voltages at max 1.4xxx
DRAM stable at XMP profile
APU (GPU) can work from 400 Mhz to 1240 Mhz without hichups during gaming.


Note: Changing memory size for APU seems to not cause any additional crashes.





This makes the system very stable. BUT.... For no apparent reasons computer sometimes wont post after being shut down or sleeping. Latest Stable Bios 4.50

System worked Flawlessly with Ryzen 1600.


Issues:

1. Random changes in bios makes computer unable to POST. Fans ramp up nothing happens. Clear CMOS 1-3 times to post to BIOS again. Anything from Ram Voltage to turning of Core Performance Boost.

2. Any Changes to XFR 2.0 results in high temps and Video_TDR crashes.

3. Having bios just cleared and only turning XMP on provides quite high temps and voltages. Just browsing i can hit 80 celcius with CPU voltages (depending on sensor) at higher 1.4 up to 1.5. Even though wattages remains below 65W even when trying killingfloor 2.


So what i want help with is finding stable settings for this setup...

I want the CPU to not boost at all so i can keep Vcore at a minimum. But i want it do down clock ofc.
I want to Make the APU not jumping up and down in Hz so it dont stutter. Not necessary to actuallt overclock it.
I need to know what safe values to work aroung in the XFR 2.0 sub menus. Seems to be VID values.






On a sidenote. The Asrock Z77e ITX is the best motherboard i ever had. So easy to use. Any value entered was produced and no weird Adaptive and non-working ofset menues. Also it could overclock some Non-k CPUS.
Asrock, you should try to aim at that simplicity again, it was awesome.
