The i7-4960X runs at 3.6Ghz but Speed Boosts to 4Ghz and has 6 cores. This is probably the king of what your board can support. Having more cores at same speed or better is always a big PLUS ! I checked the Asrock CPU list and those two seem to be the best choices
i7-4820k <span ="rgc6j"="">$199.00<span ="rgc6j"=""> · <span ="jackpot-merchant"="" style="text-decoration: none;"><span ="rhsl4"="">starmicroinc.net
<span ="rgc6j"=""> i7-4960X $388.00<span ="rgc6j"=""> · <span ="jackpot-merchant"="" style="text-decoration: none;"><span ="rhsl4"="">starmicroinc.net
I have bought used ram and cpu's from starmicro, they are a good source and well priced, they also have warranties.

Reminder: You will need to flash BIOS to 3.20 or higher before swapping cpu to a better one

Edited by badbri - 01 May 2018 at 9:59am
