It sounds like you've covered the usual suspects. Sometimes, even with cloned drives, the BIOS settings can be finicky. I had a similar issue once, and it turned out I needed to specifically select the drive as the boot override in the BIOS every time.]]>

Have you checked your BIOS settings to ensure the M.2 drive (the cloned one) is explicitly prioritized as the primary boot device? Sometimes the system defaults to trying the SATA first, even though the M.2 might be the drive you want. Makes me think of customizing my desktop! I didn't find a way to recover the data, though it's supposed to be possible by running a conversion program 'mbr2gpt.exe'.
