My recommendation is to set safe memory settings, disable csm, install windows (for gpt etc). Then activate csm again.

My system would not even boot 3200cl16 in uefi only, but boots and runs 3600cl16 fine with csm.

    Author: Celade
Subject: 8643
Posted: 09 May 2018 at 8:31pm

I've got a X470 Taichi running with a Ryzen 2700X and G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C14D-32GTZKW memory. When I select to run the XMP memory profile in the UEFI the system restarts and boots into Windows 10. With the 2933MHz profile (3200Mhz does not boot into Windows) I was able to run the MemTest from http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ to 600% coverage without errors (8 instances of 3.5GB).

However, after shutting down I am no longer able to access the UEFI or select a USB device to boot. There is no longer any ASRock POST screen, but the system boots straight into Windows 10 and the memory is still reporting it is running at 2933Mhz. After clearing the CMOS the POST screen comes back and I'm again able to enter UEFI and boot to USB, but as soon as I set an XMP profile I get the same issue again. I tested on both BIOS versions 1.10 and 1.30, but both versions have this issue.

I've not read anything online about somebody having this problem. Is there something wrong with my motherboard?

Edited by Celade - 09 May 2018 at 9:53pm
