It looks like Bios 3.3 works. Read it carefully, here is the part that matters in the last post:

I am not giving up on the Taichi and will build another machine around that at some point to continue working with it as I still feel that it offers a better feature set than the Prime I have replaced it with. Hopefully ASRock and VMWare come through with some kind of fix to make the Taichi viable.

Thank you for adding background to this thread. This thread shows my point, X399 boards work with EX, but the Taichi does not.
