Guys, I have just run into this issue myself and did some digging. Windows 10 April update has caused random hanging/freezing for a lot of users.

Microsoft claim to be aware of the issue and are working on a solution. So if you are having random 5 - 30 second freezes when using certain programs, this is the most likely cause.

Just another reason I hate windows 10, I don't want to update every time they force it down my throat, I would rather wait and see if issues like this arise and avoid the update if necessary...... AngryAngryAngryAngry
