Author: MT Headed
Subject: 8815
Posted: 29 May 2018 at 9:15pm

Hello,

I have had my 970A-G/3.1 motherboard for 2 years now and for the past 8 months or so I have been through 4 different graphics cards.
I finally bit-the-bullet and got a better graphics card which worked fine for a little while. I am running Windows 10 unfortunately, and I get the bsod. So I wound-up resetting windows and re-installing drivers.
I did notice at one point before the bsod loop started, the fan on the graphics card was making weird acceleration sounds during game play.
Now when I boot up all of the fans in the case start up, but the graphics card only runs a few moments and then slowly shuts down. I never get any video to the monitor and my computer is currently dead-in-the-water.
I have tried the graphics card in my Linux machine and it works as it should. It is a GT730 4GB GDDR3 128bit graphics card.
Put it back in this machine and it spins-down.
Should I be looking for a new motherboard, or checking the power supply?
I did strip the motherboard a couple of days ago, and then plugged everything back in, checking all connections.
Thanks,
M Tee
