Good looking out. Your suspicions (while not exactly my own seem more than reasonable considering that there is an internet full of X399 owners with problems that tend to be mild to sever.

Heres hoping that by 2025 we will get a BIOS update that fixes the vast majority of issues reported. By then we would have thrown this board away years prior lol.

Thanks again for the input.

Edited by jman - 20 Jun 2018 at 6:24am

Doing anything that disables CSM (directly disabling it, enabling Fast Boot, etc...) breaks boot because the board firmware doesn't seem to be able to load the standard modules for video during boot. Not sure how they've managed to screw this up so badly, but hopefully they'll be releasing updates soon since we've been waiting for a while...

http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=8510&PN=1&title=x370-gaming-itx-firmware-460-video-issues

If you clear CMOS and thus re-enable CSM support video output is fine. This started randomly. I have cleared CMOS for over a minute unplugged from the power source. I have re-flashed BIOS v 2.0. I have taken everything but the basic components out of the PC to boot and nothing. No OC no anything. There were no issues until a few days ago. The ONLY thing that I can think of is it is Microsoft related but that can't be so because MS has no part in the early stages of BIOS boot. Right?

The screen returns in UEFI mode as soon as Microsoft loads past the "spinning circle". Everything seemingly works fine after that.

Any ideas or personal experience would be greatly welcomed. Thanks guys.

X399 Taichi

AMD ThreadRipper 1950X

G.SKILL 32GB (AMD version)

M.2.
