So my CPU has been exchanged for a new one by a seller.

I admit I'm a littlle bit scared of overclocking it now.

Did I miss any crucial settings in BIOS? They all are in my last post.

The temps (degree celcius) with my previous CPU were just fine I think:

- PRIME95 small test - average 75, max 77-76 (3 hours)

- PRIME95 blend test - average 63-75, max 80-79 (3 hours)

- IET cpu test - average 63, max 67-68 (3 hours)

Is it all fine? Is it possible that my mainboard gives too much power on parameters I didn't monitor and they were just too high because I left them on "AUTO" (like PLL or ST)?

Maybe I should stay with fixed voltage (~1,3v) because the offset settings had too high value (-130)?

Is ~1,3 voltage safe for daily use?

Could be motherboard or cpu. Did you monitor all the temps while stress testing ? Sideways blowing cpu coolers can cause VRM overheating when overclocking if the case is not ventilating properly. Another issue is OC of the cache, not a good idea to OC cores and OC cache too even if just a little due to ripple effect which can cause problems when running OC ram (3600 is way above the Intel certed 2666) which can overheat the PHC. I suggest you follow the full CMOS reset mentioned here:

If it does boot, leave everything alone and see if it runs more than a few hours. Then you can try one OC at a time for a few hours. If it does not boot then you should contact Tech support

Hello everyone,

Brand new build with an i7-8700k, Z370 Taichi.

I left my rig yesterday on with desktop displayed so no load at all. When I came back 3 hours later the screen was black and computer was still running with all fans but it hasn't woken up since then.

I can't get to the bios. Dr Debugger at the beginning was showing codes randomly:

63 / 64 / 6A .

After few boot attempts it shows only 63 for now.

I checked the socket - no bent pins.

Cleared cmos a few times, switched to the second bios, tried with one ram stick in different slots - no luck.

Bios P1.80

Memory: Patriot Viper Led White 16GB 3600MHz CL16 DUA - PVLW416G360C6K (no oc)

CPU: Intel 8700K

Cooler: Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT (with Arctic MX-2 paste)

I have overclocked the CPU to 4,8Ghz using an offset of -130 and AVX 0.

I didn't use AVX instructions while stress testing though.

Core multi = 48

Cache ratio = 44

Cpu v max = 1.288v - 1.326v (lower value for normal usage and higher for stress testing)

vccio = 1.00v

vccsa = 1.05v

dram voltage = 1,35v

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
