It is possible that dust itself shorted between powered contact points but it's fairly unlikely.

My first stop would be trying another PSU, they are usually the first thing to go when it comes to excessive dust buildup. The PSU provides multiple voltages, all it takes for the system to fail to boot is any one of these being out of spec (12v only producing 9v for example).

If that doesn't give you any joy then you can try RAM as you have suspicions about it possibly being the cause. Let us know how it goes

Do you think blowing in air would damage something on motherboard? Also there appears to be dust under kingston radiator I might have pushwd in with air... I'll try to go find a computer workshop or something to test my ram stick, is the best I can think of right now...

Edited by BrainYogurt - 18 Jun 2018 at 11:42pm

Most often it is either the PSU or the VRM section of the motherboard. Replace the offending component and hope that nothing else was taken out with it

Unfortunately, there are numerous possible causes for memory error warnings, bad PSU not providing adequate power to the memory VRM, bad memory, bad board, dead CPU IMC.

    Author: BrainYogurt
Subject: 8965
Posted: 18 Jun 2018 at 3:20pm

Yesterday my computer overheated a couple of times, and after a BSOD Message saying IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL I opened it up to clean with an enema bulb because I don't have a vacuum (it smelled like popcorn) and after 15 minutes of blowing in air and cleaning all the dust I plugged it back in to see how it goes and it did 3 short beeps paused did them again and idled untill I powered it off. Checking out the internet I found out that it's memory related but the module itself looks fine, without it it does the usual repeated 3 long beeps.
The Module is a khx1866c9d3 and I have only one. I ran it undervolted at 1.62/1866 or at 1.67 I don't remember tbh
Motherboard is an FM2A88M-HD+.
My PSU is pretty old and it might be part of it. It's a chieftec gps-500AB A. Does anyone know if it's the mobo or DIMM? I tried reseating ram, pulled out my GPU cleared CMOS and still stands as is...

Edited by BrainYogurt - 18 Jun 2018 at 6:34pm
