Author: Kawa212
Subject: 9070
Posted: 03 Jul 2018 at 10:33pm

Hey all,

I recently purchased an i5 8600k , and the z370 extreme 4 board.
It came with a 1.30 bios verion which made me a little mad because no matter what i set to the maximum voltage with the "fixed mode" it didn't apply, i just went bouncing between 1,2 and 1,35.

Now i updated the bios to 1.80.
What i modified only is cpu ratio to 47, and the voltage mode from auto (with auto its bouncing to 1,35) to fixed mode, and set the vcore to 1.25. Tho it does not follow again my orders, the maximum voltage is now 1.185 no matter what i set, i can even set it to 1.4 it goes up until 1.185.

AVX is on auto (off)
LLC level is on auto (level 1)

My stats during a prime 95 version 26,6 are vcore 1.135- very rarely 1.185 bouncing. Fix 4700 mhz, max 132,5 W peak.
After stopping prime 95 stress test, vcore bouncing between 0,625 to 1,185 rarely, clock from 800 mhz to random numbers up to the desired 4.7ghz under load. 20 watts idle.

Do i miss something, or something overrides my fixed voltage set? Maybe multi core enhancment, or turbo, or the level 1 llc, or the cpu core current limit?

Edited by Kawa212 - 03 Jul 2018 at 10:36pm
