Quick update on this.

I switched to an ASUS PRIME X470-PRO. Plugged everything in. Booted on first try.

Power button is/was connected. I completely built it into the case, ready to close up (I know, I should have known better and test everything outside first :)) so the first thing I double checked after the thing didn't power on were all connections (graphics, quick wiggle on the RAM, all case connectors, ..).

After this didn't help, I started ripping things out / disconnecting things again.

In the meantime I upgraded the bios on my wifes Ryzen Mainboard and confirmed that the CPU and the RAM are working in her machine.

While on that, I put her 1600 Ryzen into my board and her RAM also. Still not booting. (In this configuration I also tried shorting the pins cause it was a flying setup on the table and the cases power button cable was to short.)

I'm currently pretty convinced that my board is dead. Except I have missed something crucial.

I ordered an ASUS and will try again tonight.

the obvious first, have connected the case power button? try to short pins with screwdriver to power up. on a old case my power-button failed one time.

i think you will need MoBo+CPU+RAM+GPU to test. connect a pc speaker maybe for beep error codes?

Hi all,

I have problems setting up my new system and wanted to ask for assistance.

My parts list:
Mainboard: ASRock X470 Master SLI
Processor: Ryzen 2700X
PSU: Cougar 700 SX
RAM: G.Skill DIMM 32 GB DDR4-3000 Quad-Kit (F4-3000C15Q-32GTZR, Trident Z RGB)
Graphicscard: Palit Super Jetstream GTX 1080 ti

I currently have the issue, that after putting everything together, the system does not even power on. Yes I have double checked the 24pin and 8pin + 4pin power connections.
I tried with different RAM configurations (only one DIMM in A2).

But after powering the system, only the chipset starts pulsing and when I press the power button nothing else happens. No spinning fans, no "powering up". - Do I miss something obvious?

Is there an even more minimal configuration I could try to get the system powered on (only cpu installed for example)?

This is not my first system I built over the years, but currently I'm out of ideas.
