    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=10697">fgsfds100</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 9534<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27 Aug 2018 at 10:41am<br /><br /><div><br></div><div><font color="#ff0000">Solved</font></div><div><font color="#ff0000">Apparently, while the board was mounted in the case, I wasn't able to apply enough force to get the RAM to "click" into place despite the ejector tabs (softly) moving into the lock position.&nbsp; Removing the board and inserting the sticks while pressing from the back did the trick.&nbsp; A satisfying "click" and it started up properly and displayed the BIOS.</font></div><div><font color="#ff0000"><br></font></div><div><font color="#ff0000">I tested all 4 slots individually and they work properly.</font></div><a href="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"></a><div><br></div><div>Original post:</div><div><table width="99%"><tr><td class="BBquote"><img src="forum_images/quote_box.png" title="Quote" alt="Quote" style="vertical-align: text-bottom;" /> I'm having problems getting my new Z270 SuperCarrier to boot.</div><div>With the board are an Intel i7 - 7700 (not K) CPU and two 8GB G.Skill Ripsjaws V DDR4 memory sticks.</div><div><br></div><div>Also connected to the board are...</div><div>&nbsp;- (top left) the 8-pin ATX power connector from power supply</div><div>&nbsp;- (top middle) the 4-pin CPU fan connector from fan that came with CPU</div><div>&nbsp;- (right side) the 24-pin ATX power connector from power supply</div><div>&nbsp;- (right side) the USB3 #5/6 connector from the case (have also tried without)</div><div>&nbsp;- (bottom left) the HD audio connector from the case (have also tried without)</div><div>&nbsp;- (bottom middle) the USB #3/4 connector from the case (have also tried without)</div><div>&nbsp;- (bottom right) the case control/light connectors...</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &lt;top row starting on the left&gt;</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - power LED (+)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - power LED (-)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - power switch (+)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - power switch (G)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - no pin</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &lt;bottom row starting on the left&gt;</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - HDD LED (+)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - HDD LED (-)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - unused ground pin</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - reset switch (+)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; - reset switch (G)</div><div><br></div><div>I have no video cards installed as this is just going to be a file server and on-board video will be enough.</div><div><br></div><div>Every time I boot I get no signal on the monitor (using board's DisplayPort) and Dr. Debug jumbles around for a while eventually settling on various codes, some of which aren't mentioned in the manual.</div><div><br></div><div>Code 53 when no RAM is installed<br>Code 55, then eventually 56, 57, 58, 59, 60 (it ticks back and forth between these over time) with one RAM installed in slot 1, or two in slots 1 and 2, or 1 and 3, or 2 and 4.</div><div><br></div><div>No difference of I try each RAM stick separately in slot 1</div><div>No difference if I flip the (top right) XMP switch on or off</div><div>No difference if i connect the (bottom right) 6-pin graphics connector from power supply</div><div><br></div><div>I have not touched the jumpers.</div><div><br></div><div>The case fans are all running, as is the CPU fan, and the built in lights on the board are slowly pulsing on and off.&nbsp; It is not rebooting by itself but does respond to the power and reset buttons on the board and on the case.</div><div><br></div><div>Have I done something wrong, are the parts incompatible, or is something broken?</td></tr></table></div><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by fgsfds100 - 29 Aug 2018 at 6:50am</span>]]>
