I'm trying to build my first computer and I've come across an issue

After installing the CPU and fan, memory and GPU I tried a test out of the case before going further. When the memory was installed the GPU fans would stop and not spin up again.

Removing the memory got the GPU and CPU fans to spin down and up in unison.

Regardless of the memory I couldn't get the BIOS screen using any of the Display Port connections or the HDMI connection provided by the video card.

Build Components

MotherBoard: ASRock x370 killer sli/ac
CPU        : AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Memory     : XPG DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 8GB X2
Video Card : VGA MSI GTX 1070 Armor 8GB OC
