I fired up the new Assasin's Creed and started playing.  I got maybe 5 minutes into the game and my system froze and crashed with a kernel error.  After dying, the system would power up for a second, I can see the numbers cycle from 15 to 00 and then it powers down.  This repeats in an endless loop.

Intel 4790K
NZXT AIO Watercooler
Coolermaster SinWave 850watt PS
Samsung Evo 850 1TB
Gigabyte G1 Gamer GTX1070
Corsair Vengence DDR3 (2400) 2x8GB

I pulled the video card and it didn't make any difference.  I tried a different power supply and the same thing is occurring.  I pulled one of the RAM chips and the system starts, but Dr Diag errors that it can't find a SATA drives.  Can't get into BIOS as the system freezes.

Is the board dead?  What can I try next?
