    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1130">maurizio</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 988<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 09 Oct 2015 at 3:39pm<br /><br />I am confused about how to install Windows 7 via USB for a system that will be using RAID.<br><br>system components:<br>Win 7 Pro 64-bit<br>ASRock Z170 OC Formula<br>using USB for installation of drivers &amp; OS<br>keyboard &amp; mouse are USB devices<br><br><br>My Windows OS will not be on a RAID drive, but I do want to have other disks in RAID arrays.<br><br>From the information on the ASRock Website<br>http://www.asrock.com/microsite/Win7Install/<br><br>I see that there is a USB Patcher available for using with the Windows 7 installation file.<br><br>However, in the Guide to SATA Hard Disks Installation and RAID Configuration, it recommends the following steps for installing Windows 7 with RAID functions (page 7, English):<br>(a) set BIOS setting to use RAID<br>(b) use ASRock Easy RAID Installer to copy the RAID driver from a support CD to a USB storage device<br>(c) set up RAID configuration<br>(d) install Windows<br><br>If I can't use the USB ports until I have installed the USB-patched Windows, how can I use a USB flash drive to install the RAID driver for step b, which needs to occur before installing Windows (step d)?<br>]]>
