Author: Xaltar
Subject: DeskMeet Series + Intel Arc A380 Value Bundle
Posted: 11 Mar 2026 at 2:17am

As GPU and memory prices continue to fluctuate, gamers are looking for smarter
ways to build high-performance systems without exceptional value. ASRock
recommends the DeskMeet Series platform paired with the Intel Arc A380
Challenger ITX 6GB OC graphics card, delivering a balanced configuration that
achieves strong performance and outstanding value for mainstream gaming.

With Intel's latest graphics driver optimized for XeSS 3 technology, the gaming
performance of the Intel Arc A380 has been significantly enhanced. With XeSS 3
enabled, it can deliver a 1080p gaming experience comparable to the RX 6600,
offering higher frame rates and clearer image quality. Powered by AI-based
algorithms, XeSS 3 generates images close to native resolution while
significantly boosting FPS, resulting in smoother gameplay. In addition, the
A380 supports AV1 encoding and decoding, further enhancing media processing and
content creation capabilities.

The DeskMeet Series ??including DeskMeet X600, DeskMeet X300, and DeskMeet B760
??offers multiple platform options that are not only well suited for mainstream
desktop gaming, but also hold strong potential as the foundation for a living-
room Steam Machine-style system. Its highly integrated design simplifies the
building process while supporting discrete graphics cards and four memory
slots, ensuring both performance capability and upgrade flexibility. When
paired with the Intel Arc A380 Challenger ITX 6GB OC and enhanced by the latest
driver optimizations and XeSS 3 technology, the system delivers higher frame
rates and smoother gameplay within a reasonable budget, achieving an ideal
balance between cost and performance.

Article here.

To keep the noise low I tried to set the TDP to a lower value. But my setting of "45" in the TDP line is completely ignored. Also the TDC that I have set to 50 is ignored. HWINFO64 shows me 3,6GHz@1,4V and package power=100W, Package current = 70A when I set the CPU under load. And the fan is of course blowing at high rpm.

Is there any chance to get the TDP setting working?

The only thing that seems possible is to reduce the maximum CPU speed in Windows from 100% to 99%. Author: Akhanaton
Subject: Desktmeet B660 10GBe + USB4
Posted: 16 Oct 2023 at 3:52am

I am happy with my new Desktmeet B660 mini pc. I have installed 128G of DDR4-3200 and o/c to DDR-3600 no problem. I really appreciate the four (4) DIMM slots for RAM/memory. I have installed an "M.2 M-key to PCIE4x4" extension cable to a 10Gbe AQC-113C PCI card which I mounted inside the unit. The PCI4x16 slot is taken by a MSI RTX4060TI VENTUS 2X BLACK 16G OC which is approved in the associated Asrock QVL.

It's all good. But I need USB4/TB3 40Gb ports. I am looking for a good ASM4242 x4 2xUSB4 PCIe card. If I can find this card then I will move the AQC-113C M.2 connection to the A+E M.2 slot and put the ASM4242 on the PCIe 4x4 M.2 slot. The AQC-113C runs at full b/w with only 1 lane of PCIe 4.0.

Unfortunately, MSI has already come out with an ASM4242 in the format of the old proprietary motherboard vendor locked Thunderbolt 4 cards. The old AIC/GPIO connectors required by these obsolate boards were so mangly that MB OEMs started putting proprietary PCIe card tabs on their proprietary TB4 cards. One (1) internal *power-only* cable is fine, but no more AIC/GPIO cables, please.

I hope that AsRock takes a different path from MSI. There is no reason for proprietary nonsense. Seriously, any MB OEM who wants to be in the PCIe card business will make more sales and $$$ by building a cost-efficient ASM4242 card, test/certify for their MB, post on website & sell. Avoid the mess of proprietary.

If AsRock really wants beat their competition, release an ITX board with surface-mounted AQC-113C and ASM4242 chips, built-in, no need for cards.

The only way is entering the Bios but afterwards, the pc doesn?™t respond anymore when Windows starts up??no matter what I tried.
Anyway I thank you for your advice.
Kind regards , Claude

    Author: Claude
Subject: Beebox N3000 nuc - boot problem
Posted: 22 Sep 2023 at 8:57pm

Hello everyone. I recently had a problem starting up my Beebox pc. Normally he starts up in a proper way entering the Windows 10 desktop. He does this correctly when the 12 V power cable stays connected. If I disconnect the power cable (even for a few seconds) then, after reconnecting the power cable, the Beebox starts up to a black screen with a message that the time and date are not set. When I then choose F2 to enter the Bios/UEFI, on the contrary I notice that date/time is well set correctly. I choose then F10 tot save changes and leave Bios and enter finally the Windows 10 desktop correctly. Each time the 12v cable is plugged out , for some reason, the start up routine obliges me to first pass the Bios window before entering Windows. If the power cable stays connected to the pc, it starts up correctly. I replaced already the Bios battery by a new one, I already did an instant flash of the latest Bois version . But still the problem remains. Has someone an idea what causes this kind of problem. I am looking forward to get some information about this problem. It will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Claude
