    Posted: 11 Oct 2015 at 10:26am
Sometimes after extensive use/gaming the system fails to shutdown properly, the LED & all the fans  keeps running infinitely until i manually shut it off by pressing the power button for 5 seconds.

As i already updated to the lateset Bios ver. 1.6 & all necessaary Driver updates through Asrock App Shop, so is this a hardware issue?

Please help as this annoyed me a lot, thanks.

Did You update Your Windows 10? Try updating them.

If the screen goes black and PC still works - in W10, it's update time.

Thanks for your advice, However, Windows Update told me that i am on the latest update already. ;(
Still no clue what's happening, may be a faulty motherboard or badly written Bios?

As the first time Asrock motherboard user, I am so disappointed with this brand right now....

After updating the EFI, did You "reset to default" in the EFI, and save&exit?
After that - You should re-enter the OS and test it. If everything works fine,
You can re-adjust Your EFI settings, to find out what the problem is.

Good luck!

My first suspicion would be a driver issue. The BIOS/UEFI generally has very little to do during the shutdown procedure. Do you see anything suspicious in the Windows event log when you do the shutdown?

If this is easily reproducible, you can try running an xbootmgr trace - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/140247-trace-windows-7-bootshutdownhibernatestandbyresume-issues/ - to see what is causing the hang.

The Windows fast startup feature can cause this sometimes. If you disable it and shutdown, it might clear up this issue.

After switching back to the original bios ver 1.1, the issue is gone, which means it is a bug for bios ver 1.3 & above.

Therefore, would you please report this to the ASRock Bios developemnt team so that they can fix it in the next bios update, thanks a lot.
