Update: turns out it is a windows problem. Since it was in AHCI when windows was installed, RAID drivers were disabled. Enabling them then switching to raid made things work as expected.

I have a Z97M Pro4 motherboard. I was using a single SSD, but recently purchased 2 identical HDD that I wanted to put in raid 1 then use the SSD as my boot drive. Changing the bios settings from AHCI to RAID I was able to put the 2 HDD into raid, however from this point windows will either green screen or will auto load back into BIOS. Is it an issue that when I originally downloaded windows and was using my SSD that it was in AHCI? I also saw a post about needing raid drivers but from what I can tell they are installed. I've tried about everything but can't seem to figure this one out.
