Hi

I have Asrock z68 extreme 4 gen3 and was working perfectly until I decided to update bios.

Now when it boot it gives message '1394 guid are invalid in both cmos and flash' asks to press F1 to continue
i hop to help me to remove this message

Greetings, this is ASRock Technical Support Department.

Please download the file and pic as below link then follow the below directions to re-flash 1394 GUID.

1. Please check the 1394 label in your motherboard and write it down. The 1394 UUID like 1394.jpg(ex. 00138F00XXXXXXXX)
2. Rename the "1394_zip" to "1394.zip" Unzip the attached file "1394.zip" and save it to a bootable USB flash.
3. Reboot your system and boot into the USB flash with Hotkey <F11> during POST.
4. Run the 1394 program and key in "fwguid c XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" then press enter. System will re-flash the 1394 automatically.

now When I did what you told me about 1394.zip it gave me message on Dos

An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted .
Change the stacks setting in your config.sys file , and than try again .

and restart me pc but the massege still
'1394 guid are invalid in both cmos and flash' asks to press F1 to continue

Where is the problem

We tested the same steps and the 1394 can be flash successfully.
Please clear CMOS settings, or use another USB storage for try.
PS: Please download and unzip 1394.zip as the link, then click into "1394" folder then begin from step.2

Read the included instructions and follow them closely and you should be ok. But read and follow the instructions.

Hi, the download works, but the file don't.
To be exact, the file works but I haven't got any label on the FLOPPY1 connector.
I've a yellow label on the parallel port, with the number 71M0X1126988, and a white label with 0019660224FD.
Anything else ...

0019660224FD looks to me as a NIC MAC #

71M0X1126988 looks right.

But contact ASRock Tech Support FIRST please. No sense taking my word when they're there to answer with surety.

So I download the mac address changer tool from ASROCK and used as they said to, but got a "write mac function call fail" error when writing the correct mac address. Apparently something is either wrong with their tool, or that tool does not work for the 4CORE DUAL VSTA.

Is there a .jar file or something that I can use on Linux? Cause this problem can also happen on Linux apparently.
