Hi all,
I want to add WiFi to my J5005-ITX and bought a AX201 module (the label says AX201NGW), which supports CNVI according to Intel's website. When trying to boot the computer with the WIFI module inserted, it turns on for a second and then immediately off. When I remove the module, the computer works without problems. When it is re-inserted, it again turns off after one second. Is there something that I can do to make it work, or do I have to use some other module? I don't really understand the few information pages on Intel and ASRock's websites. Would the AX200 module work (comparison at Intel)? What is the "latest" WIFI module that definitely runs in the J5005-ITX mobo? Thank you and best regards, Dude Edited by ASRock_TSD - 23 Jun 2020 at 3:43pm |

Dear Dude,
Thank you for posting your query to ASRock forum. The AX201 will work with upcoming chipset such as Comet Lake CPU. Kindly try with WiFi modules such as AX200 on the J5005-ITX. With thanks, ASRock TSD Edited by ASRock_TSD - 18 Dec 2019 at 11:28am |

I read that AX200 doesn't support CNVi.
Is there a Wifi-6 M2 module which is compatible with J4105/J5005? |

Dear asrocky,
Thanks for the reply. When a spec. states that the CNVi Wifi module is supported, it does not mean that a CNVi supported WiFi module is required. A non-CNVi module can also be supported with the Gemini Lake motherboard such as AX200 and AC9260. With thanks, ASRock TSD Edited by ASRock_TSD - 18 Jun 2020 at 5:14pm |
