I updated the BIOS on my ASRock Z270 PRO4 to 2.30 using the Windows utility, and it no longer boots. The power turns on, but the fan seems to repeat ramping up and down.
I tried both the CMOS battery reset and CMOS Jumper as per manual instruction: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/Z270%20Pro4.pdf There's also no light (num lock, cap lock, etc) on the connected USB keyboard. Is there any way forward here? or is RMA the only way to go? Thanks in advance. |

Unfortunately flashing through windows is not the best way to go. Many many boards have been lost this way. Your only hope is to try a deep cmos clear then RMA.

Yeah, now I'll never flash through Windows again...
Is there other ways to deep clear the CMOS other than battery + jumper combo? |

In addition disconnect the power supply from the mains, repeatedly press the power button while power disconnected, battery removed etc. Let is sit overnight...... cross fingers
