I'm having the same issue happening while I'm typing. I can find a unknown USB device keeps connecting and droping.
the device location is Port_#0005.Hub_#0001 In my case, the problem happened once before but disappeared after rest overnight. I highly suspect that this is a hardware defect. I have to disable the win10 sound notification for device connect and disconnect as a temporary solution. |

What cpu are you guys running? I'm using a newryzen 5 3600. I wonder if it's possible a cpu defect could be causing this. I tried two of these motherboards both worked good for a few days then crapped out. What are the chances of that happening. My suspicion is the cpu is defective and frying the usb chipsets. But who knows, No one will respond here.

Sorry forgot ram and power supply:
Ryzen 5 3600 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair 3200Mhz CMK16GX4M2B3200C16W ver 5.32 EVGA 600W power supply Asus TUF 1660 Super I saw a review on newegg where they had the same issue as me, and i think they were using the same ram and CPU. But this ram was used in a previous build and it worked perfectly. |

It's not a CPU issue, it has something to do with the USB ports themselves. I'm running a 3700X and still ran into this problem. I will say that even though it's still happening, it's happening way less frequently after following the steps CS gave me (that I posted earlier in this thread) AND plugging in something in the USB-C port. Apparently the USB-C thing doesn't work for everyone but it's helped in my case.

Believe it or not, one of the USB controllers is located on the CPU, and another is on the chipset.

Oh
I thought, this usb was only my problem. it's weird, currently I'm not having this usb problem. But One thing that i remember, my USB 3.0 Wi-Fi device will trigger the usb failed problem when plugged in into USB 3.0 port. And I also got a problem when switch to power saving mode when using Asrock motherboard utility (A-Tunning). Mouse was like very sluggish, slow to response. |

Asrock should acknowledge the problem, as this is a ticking time bomb, and the fact they offered a rebate pretty much guarantees you can't return it or if it breaks after 30 days. Turning off the sound is not a solution, as it causes slowdown/lag while gaming as the computer thinks a devices is constantly being connected/disconnected.

Hello, I have the same problem. I have an ASRock X570 Steel Legend. It worked normally for a few days and then the problems started. The UEFI bios is very slow with the mouse and keyboard. Both move very briefly every 2 seconds. Windows is constantly connecting and disconnecting the USB connection. UEFI takes over 1 minute to start. I was able to switch off XHCI support in BIOS version 1.9, then it got better. But then I no longer had a USB 3. This setting is no longer available in the new BIOS version.
Sorry for my bad English. |

I have now got the system up and running to some extent. With the BIOS version 2.80 and my Ryzen 5 3600XT (Matisse 2), Windows still shows an unknown USB device, but it is not constantly connected and disconnected. But the UEFI bios itself runs very slowly. With version 2.60 I could deactivate under "Advanced"> "AMD CBS"> "Chipset Common Options"> "Chipset USB Configuration Options"> "XHCI-Controller0 + 1".
When I activated controller 0 and deactivated 1 everything works very well. But then I no longer have a front USB. In version 2.80 you can no longer deactivate the XHCI controller. I hope for a UEFI update for the Matisse 2 (3600 XT) with working USB 3 ports and smoothly running UEFI. |
