Hey all, does anyone here have any of the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs with the x470 Taichi board with the latest 4.60 BIOS? And if so how is it running? Were there any issues? I'm just asking because as soon as I find a 5900x in stock I will buy it and replace my 3700x. I already got real lucky and managed to buy a EVGA 3070 XC3 Ultra, just last week, thank's to EVGA's auto notify :D

Thanks

I have on my x470 taichi a ryzen 7 5800x running without issues, with a teamgroup drams 3200c14 overclocked to 3600c14 and PBO2 enabled.

Oh that's great it's running perfect with a 5800x on 4.60. I also have 3200 CL14 32GB in a 8x4, are you running 2 slots or all 4 slots? Seems solid then, that's great I'm going to upgrade to AGESA 1.2.0.0 once AsRock get's the new BIOS which will probably be in Feb. maybe by then I will have my 5900x :D

I'm running 2x8 and its fine. I only have a concern, my x470 taichi doesn´t read power consum of my 5800x and wrong read of +12v rail, but I don´t know if its only my concern or generall, but performance is good.

Ah, 8x2, I should have no issue I'm thinking these boards are t-topology and have no issues with all ram slots filled up. About that power consum. what is it showing if your using hwinfo? Mine has a +12.250v https://ibb.co/9vSy8Pv My guess it could also be the new bios 4.60. I'm going to also guess it should be corrected with the new bios that has the new AGESA 1.2.0.0 come Feb.

Oh one more thing I forgot to ask, with bios 4.60 did AsRock include that new Resizable BAR in the bios settings with the x470 boards?

Ah, it's grayed out. Thanks for the update, heres hoping they change that with the next bios update, which should contain the new AGESA 1.2.0.0. It looks like it will be an improvement in games with it on. Nvidia is also releasing their own resizable BAR. Right now it looks like it benefits AMD GPUs. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/resizable-bar-intel-z490-motherboard-benchmarks
I have a 3070 so I want to see what Nvidia does :D

Hey. 32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200mhz cl14 running at 3600 cl14 (xmp timings incredibly) and no issue with 5800x, x470 taichi, bios 4.60, 'game mode' pbo enabled via ryzen master. Timespy cpu score 12072 so I'm pretty happy (at last!). p.s. I've not seen the option for resizeable BAR yet; also I think Nvidia have to release the driver for Ampere to take advantage (3080 here)

Hey thanks a lot for your feedback results, gives me more peace of mind now :D I can finally order, well when I do find a 5900x at retail price LMAO. I see your build is rock solid with your 5800x, 4.60 and 32GB 3200 CL14 and you have it clocked to 3600 CL14 that's really good. Is it a 8x4 (all ram slots filled) or a 16x2 config? I have all my slots filled 8x4 3200 CL14 and just going to keep it that way with my CPU upgrade. Nice timespy score to :D. The BAR is up to nvidia right now, your right we just have to wait.

16x2 for me on the Dominator Platinums. Very impressed so far but you pay for it. Unless you need the extra cores for workloads, just get the 5800x. It clocks hard, mine are regularly at 4850mhz and have spiked higher but I have a 360mm water loop on the go :)
32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200mhz cl14 OC>3466mhz cl14 (xmp timings incredibly) 5800x, x470 taichi, bios 4.70, resizable BAR enabled, pbo enabled -0.1V offset
