Good morning,
For the last couple of months I have been getting occassionally 5 short beeps when starting the PC, after that the system seems to restart and then it all works correctly. Other times it boots normally with no beeps nor problems. My specs are: B450M Steel Legend Ryzen 5 3600 GeForce GTX 1660 Super Ram 2x8gb 3000mHz Corsair Vengeance I was worried at the beginning but since it all worked perfectly even after the beeps I didn't give it much attention until now. I don't know the reason for these occassional beeps, I would be very grateful should anyone help me out. Thank you in advanced. |

5 beeps is either CPU or GPU. Maybe reseat the GPU, and CPU as well.

Ok, but I don't understand why it only beeps sometimes and why it still works after it beeps

There might be loose connection, thus me suggesting to reseat both CPU and GPU :) |

What is your PSU? If the beeps only happen on a cold boot (after the system has
been switched off for a prolonged period) then it could be dying. I have seen it before where the PSU produces lower than normal voltage when not warmed up, this can cause POST failures, GPUs not initializing and all manner of other gremlins. Once warmed up (which takes longer the more the unit degrades) the system functions as normal. |

It is a corsair cv550.
If I'm not mistaken it happens at random times, sometimes on a cold boot and others maybe 30 minutes after I have shut it down. It boots normally more times than it does by beeping. I have reseated the GPU and during the first boot it has not beeped. I will let you know if it beeps again. |

If you have multiple PCIe power cables on your PSU try switching the one/s connected
to your GPU, just one if your GPU has 2. This should spread the load differently and could help. If that does not help swap the PSU for another one if you have one or see if you can borrow one to test with. |
