I have been using AsRock Mobos for many years. Six month ago I upgraded again using the above board.

Recently Windows 10 started giving me problems so I went to reinstall it or possibly use the repair disk.

You can't...

The only boot option is default "Windows Boot Manager" which is of course the defective installation on Drive C.

No longer is there the customary preferred option of my listed DVD drive, other HDDs, or even a USB drive.

Suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Hi IanCPurdie,

Thank you for your post.

Please press "F11" during the post-stage to access the boot menu.

Then you can manually select your installation/repair disk to boot up the system.

If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us.

All the best,

Thanks for the response. After some 30+ years with computers I am quite familiar with about most things.

Unfortunately F11 produces only one [unfamiliar] option "Windows Boot Manager" which of course is useless.

I was for the time being able to get around it by other devious/creative means.

Thanks for your interest.

Ian

Hi IanCPurdie,

Thank you for your reply.

Please try the below suggestion to verify your system.

1. Clear CMOS by referring to the user manual page. 18.
User manual: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/B460%20Pro4.pdf
2. Remove all of the storage on the system and only install your USB boot drive to check if BIOS can detect your USB boot drive.
3. We recommend re-create a new USB boot drive with the latest Windows. Please download "Windows installation media creator" by the below link. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us.

All the best,
ASRock TSD
