Hello everyone!

My A320M-DVS R4.0 motherboard has BIOS version 4.00
On the page with BIOS firmware, it is written:

Do I need to flash the Bios version 2.20, because I have a Risen 3 Pro 1200 processor with a Summit Ridge core?

Thanks!

If your PC is working correctly and has no issues there is no need to update your
BIOS at all. It wasn't that long ago that only tech support and tech repair shops
ever really updated BIOS versions for people, aside from enthusiasts that is.
The BIOS is not an operating system or a program that benefits from constant
updates, it is firmware that handles all your hardware and how it communicates with
each other. If there isn't an issue with the system related to compatibility/stability
then there really isn't any need to update at all, in some cases, ever.

The only times I recommend BIOS updates are:
1. You are installing a newer generation CPU than the current version supports
2. You have compatibility/stability issues that the update is specifically designed to improve/correct
3. Security updates that are critical to your work environment
4. If you are an enthusiast that knows the risks but is willing to take the chance
to test out different versions and determine which gives the best overclocking
results.

That last one applies to high end boards only, budget to mid range boards seldom
see any overclocking advantage from BIOS updates as the limiting factor is typically
not the BIOS but the power delivery circuitry (VRM design).

If your board does not support the CPU you intend to use with it then I would
suggest updating to 2.20, otherwise, if it ain't broke
