First install was a 486 laptop, downloaded over a 14.4k connection onto floppy. Slackware 2.0. One disk was corrupt, redownload whole set about 4x. Got it running eventually. Fun times, but glad they have improved.

Setting up Red Hat on servers in the 90's was a real treat
The days of manually setting IRQs and DMA etc with jumpers, then you didn't know if the issue you were having was a bad driver or a jumper you missed... Worse still, updating your BIOS via the internet wasn't a thing either, particularly on dialup Edited by Xaltar - 22 Aug 2022 at 12:59am |

Glad to hear you got it stable. Driver/resource conflicts can be a real pain.
Luckily it's a lot better these days than it used to be Edited by Xaltar - 20 Aug 2022 at 7:07pm |

Thanks, I think it's straight, conflict with Realtek or AMD onboard sound. I am pretty sure it's straight, disabled onboard sound and system has stabilized. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Just FYI, this is a community forum. If you want ASRock's attention you need to
submit a support ticket here: https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp ASRock does occasionally post here but it isn't an official support chain. Help comes from other community members and in cases like yours, using 6 displays, there are not likely many forum members that have the experience to help. |

I have disabled Realtek systems/drivers for the most part and increased stability. Will continue to give feedback, but I am less than impressed with support. Probably looking for another motherboard company.

So, I have updated the BIOS, This appears to be some sort of conflict with the Realtek/Nahimic sound as system appears stable with 4 monitors, but when I attempt to open the sound settings, or the Nahimic configuration tool, system freezes immediately.

Yeah, I found the correct one that loads in the BIOS it is the Phantom 4AC. Going to give it a shot

Which board are you using?
The B550 Phantom Gaming 4 or the B550M Phantom Gaming 4? They use different BIOS updates so if you have the wrong one it won't be recognized. |
