    Posted: 01 Nov 2022 at 5:53pm
I have the following configuration:

ASRock X670E Taichi Bios 1.11
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
G.Skill F5-6400J3239G16G 4x16GB
Zotac Geforce RTX 4090 OC Trinity with driver 526.47
Corsair HX1000I
Windows 10 Pro with all patches

My problems:
- crashes (mouse freeze + straight reboot) right at the Windows login or shortly after (<1 min)
- after Windows Hibernate start, Windows crashes 100% of the time in 1 min
- 30 seconds until Asrock logo

I did:
- deactivate PCI Re-Bar
- run RAM with 4800 (=no XMP)
- disable c-states
- setup fans to run even in idle mode
- with Bios 1.09 it was so bad, that I had to remove everything on my board except 1 ram to be able to flashback to 1.11

Do you know when there will be a Bios version, to run the configuration stable?

There is some new beta bios for your MB but I guess it will not solve this problem - 1.11.AS01 [Beta].

I've got X670E Pro RS with 4 sticks of F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NR and gave up on them, it useless to set up with @4800 with some high cycles just to have it stable, with half a price of it I will test tomorrow 2 sticks of KF548C38BBK2-64 with probably same or better stable settings.

5 years ago got the same problem with x399 and 4 sticks of G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL14-14-14 XMP2 DIMMs, took some months or years to resolve, will not waste my time again on it now.

Good luck

Samsung 960EVO,970Pro/980Pro
MSI GeForce GTX 1050/Asus GeForce RTX 3080TUF

I am running into the same issue. I had a feeling the motherboard was to blame when it would freeze in the bios?¦this is an absolutely awful bug. I have a 4090 founders, 7950X, and 2 sticks of 16GB 6000Mhz G.Skill with AMD xpo. Updated to 1.09 and it was flawless for a week, then hell started. Guess I?™m glad I still have my old system to use but what a shame. I?™ve gone through multiple drive installs, cpu swaps, etc. I don?™t really feel like just putting the Taichi on my shelf and waiting for a working bios but too late to return it! Thanks a lot asrock!

Early adoption pains

I would open a ticket with ASRock Tech Support:
https://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp

ASRock are usually great with helping early adopters resolve issues. Bare in mind
there are teething problems with every new platform, most come from the vendor
not the manufacturer. AM4 was riddled with issues for well over a year before
AMD got their AGESA properly sorted and even then, some continued to have issues
all the way up to the 3000 series. Every ticket submitted to ASRock (or any manufacturer)
with different configurations will help them iron out bugs and find fixes/workarounds.

Same issue here. Crashes to black screen in less than a minute in Windows. Usually on cold boot. After restart or two it then works and can pass Prime95, OCCT etc.
Tried looser timing - no dice. Tried Windows 11 reset to factory - no dice.

System specs:

Windows 11 Pro
AMD Ryzen 7950x
Asorck x670e Taichi
MSI 4090 Suprim X
EVGA 1600W T2
G.Skill Trident Z5 32gb (2x16) Model F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N

I only play Fortnite and sometimes COD.. it wont even play DX12 or DX11 on fortnite without crashing... I can only play Preformance Mode which is kinda sh*tty... i had to turn off all overclocking from ryzen master adn keep my ram at stock for it to even run a game.. and when i put my frames uncapped it will play for maybe 4 minutes and crash.. i know im not over heating or anything because i checked and checked my cooler.. which is a 360mm artic freeze AIO.. the good one lol Getting frustrated with this all.. about to switch to intel 13900k which i dont want to cause i love AMD and have been rocking them for a while... But when i cant even game on it when it cost a small fortune.. it should play games atleast

AS02 beta doesn?™t help at all. Crashes before I can even login, crashes in the bios, yes the update successfully installed. Get this supposedly premium product in shape, please. I?™m not interested in testing a new bios every week if you can?™t fix the issue.

Dear All,
Thank you for the posting.

For this case, could you please try below suggestions to verify the system?
1. Clear CMOS by pressing the CLR CMOS button after removing the 24 pin ATX power cable.
2. Keep BIOS setting default and only install CPU, PSU, Cooler, RAM, GPU, System disk to test.
3. Remove the GPU and output the graphics by iGPU to test.
4. Reinstall a clean OS to verify.
5. Please go to BIOS\Advance\AMD CBS\CPU Common Options to set [Global C-state
Control] to [Disable] to try.

If the issue persist, could you please help to check if the system shows any error code or it just shutdown automatically?

Thank you,

Bets wihshes,
ASRock TSD

I have tried all of this. System only crashes when the computer is cold from sitting off for a few hours. It boots into windows and runs for up to five minutes then the screen goes black and the computer restarts. After restart everything runs fine and I can do multiple tests with no errors. It only does it after the system is physically cold. I did discover that this does not happen on the BIOS version 1.07. All bios after this one are effected. I also notice that the bus reads 100mhz before it crashes then after reboot it reads 99mhz. The windows logs report a tdr failure from driver nvlddmkm.sys. It happens on my 3070ti, 2080 and on amd IGPU. It definitely is something wrong in the bios. Maybe investigate what is different about bios 1.07 that does not cause this issue to happen. I have tried all the bios up to the recent beta from 11/4. It seems whatever was changed to support the 4000 series broke something with the graphics in general.

I was half tempted to downgrade to 1.07 but instead took the X670E Taichi out of my system. It?™s now sitting on a shelf. I tried igpu, 6600XT, and 4090. Love this $500 brick on my shelf. Love it!!
