I have an Z790 Pro RS and I made a copy of the boot drive which is on an M.2 SSD. Is there any way to disable the M.2 SSD so I can boot to the SATA SSD for testing some programs on before installing them to the M.2 drive? This M.2 is located under the GPU and is a pain to pull. The BIOS is v3.12. ( I can upgrade if it helps).

No, it is not possible, since it is connected to directly to the PCIE lanes.
So there is no BIOS option, to disable. However, when You press f11, it should show the bootmenu, and it should be possile to select a different bootdrive. |

Kind Regards
