It was published in our news today:
https://www.heise.de/news/Z690-Mainboard-kommt-mit-quelloffenem-Coreboot-vorinstalliert-7549377.html It seems when it comes to a preinstalled coreboot UEFI that MSI is taking the lead. What is coreboot? https://www.coreboot.org/ Is ASRock planning to support coreboot as well? |

MSI is not taking any lead. The aforementioned work is solely a pure effort of the Dasharo Team (https://docs.dasharo.com/) from 3mdeb company (https://3mdeb.com/). 3mdeb has not received any support from MSI regarding the coreboot work. Moreover, MSI stated that they want nothing to do with coreboot or open-source firmware/BIOS, after 3mdeb had contacted them. Very unlikely for any major OEM / board vendor to officially support coreboot or any open-source firmware/BIOS. |
