I just fresh installed windows 11 and firecuda 530 (put on pcie5 m2 slot) on x670e taichi (7950x3d), yet somehow this drive is shown as removable device. I got "safely remove hardware and eject media" for this drive on taskbar. All other drives dont seem to be affected by this problem (3 pcie3 nvme and 3 sata ssd).
Obviously i prefer if this drive is not recognized as removable to prevent accidental click. I alr updated bios to the latest version and let the "auto installer" to install the drivers. Hot plug options are also disabled in bios. Additional info: windows is installed on a pcie3 nvme in the slot that shares lane with sata (the one that lies on the top right side of motherboard) Can someone help with this problem? |

I think it would be best to use the support form, and check the spam folder for replies
https://tw.asrock.com/events/tsd.asp Usually this is related to drivers. and it is important that after Windows is installed, You always first install the chipset drivers https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am5/x670e As far as I am aware this is driver related |

Thunderbolt controller is tied in with m.2 slot, so the only way for it to be not shown as removable is to disable thunderbolt, See this thread here :

It seems that you are experiencing an issue with your newly installed FireCuda 530 drive on Windows 11. Despite being installed on the PCIe5 M.2 slot of your X670E Taichi (7950X3D) motherboard, the drive is being recognized as a removable device. You would prefer it to be recognized as a non-removable drive to avoid accidental ejections.
To address this problem, you have already taken a few steps. You updated your BIOS to the latest version and allowed the auto-installer to install the necessary drivers. You have also disabled hot plug options in the BIOS. Additionally, it's worth noting that your Windows installation is on a PCIe3 NVMe drive that shares a lane with SATA, specifically the slot located on the top right side of the motherboard. Given the steps you've taken, it seems you have covered the essential troubleshooting measures. However, to further investigate and resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to the manufacturer's support team or community forums. They can provide more specific guidance tailored to your hardware tool configuration and Windows 11 setup. |
