update to 5.10 first, then update to 7.00, then you can use 7.10

upgrading my old machine, currently have a ryzen 5 1600x and an x370 taichi on BIOS version P3.3.
https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/x370%20taichi/index.asp#BIOS
just wanted to double check im understanding it correctly since ive somehow never actually updated my BIOS before despite building a few PCs over the years.
as far as i can tell, i should be able to flash directly to P7.0, then from that to P7.1? ive also read on other forums that i should first update to P5.1, then P7.0 and P7.1 after but could find no explanation for why i should do that.
also read recommendations about removing all but 1 RAM stick, clearing CMOS, restoring default BIOS settings, leaving the machine completely unpowered for a few hours. are things like that necessary or only stuff i should look into if i run into trouble?
