Hello friends,
When I shut down CSM, my computer gets stuck on the screen below and I cannot enter the BIOS or continue to Windows. Sometimes, when I don't use it for a long time, or when I turn it on after 1-2 hours, it happens like this, but the problem is fixed when I reset it. The BIOS version was 5.30, and I updated it to 5.70 due to this problem, but the situation did not change. I also switched from Windows 10 to Windows 11, but the problem persisted. The system is installed as UEFI, and the disks are formatted as GPT. If I enable CSM, I cannot activate AMD SAM, and Secure Boot must be enabled for Valorant to work in Windows 11, but Secure Boot does not work when CSM is enabled. System: Asrock B450M Pro4 - 5700G - XFX 6750 XT - HP V6 RAM 1.4V 4133 MHz How can I solve this problem? Also, would constantly resetting the computer at this screen be harmful in the long run? https://imgur.com/a/LCcZgki |

First of all 1.4 Volt is really high, usually, it is 1.2 volt, with SPD (JEDEC) settings, and 1.35V for XMP profiles
1.35V is already 12% higher, 1.4 is 17% higher, and it doesn't look a a big deal but actually it is a big deal, becasue the memory controller is not on the board, but integrated in the CPU, and this high voltage ends up on the memory controller inside the CPU the memory controller in the 5700G APU runs optimal at 3200MHz https://www.amd.com/en/product/11171 Now to the voltage and being a big deal, just compare it to the wall socket, supplying 230Volt, 12% extra would make it 258V, 17% extra 269Volt. Woukld You connect your PC to an outlet that supplies 269Volt, probably not, but that is exactly what You are doing with the CPU. worst part is, that the overall system performance difference between 3200MHz and 4133MHz is 0, only a synthetic benchmark will show betetr results, the CPU howeevr will not go any faster. 1.4V is extremely high, and I know some nenory will even work at 1.45V, but that is about the max, becasue in the end, it will likely kill your CPU. CSM Disabled, will only work, when the OS is installed in UEFI (GPT) Mode Try a clean install with BIOS defaults, and CSM Disabled, windows will install in GPT mode. Then first install the latest AMD chipset driver. https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b450 Try running the memopry with manual DRAM speed of 3200MHz, probably the lower latency timing will be faster than the XMP profile Or use the support form,. and check your spam folder for replies https://tw.asrock.com/events/tsd.asp |
