Figured I would give FW 2.06.AS03 a try since I was running 1.30 AS05. Ran into another ASRock nightmare setting supported RAM from 4800 to 5200. PC kept rebooting noting a bios error one time, a memory error the next, a missing Windows file the next, etc. Tried rolling back to 1.30 AS05 but after confirming the new bios, the PC would boot back into Windows saying a Windows file was missing but it shouldn't have booted into Windows anyway. Finally on the tenth try I was able to roll back. Why do I only run into these problems with ASRock products?

I see 2.06.AS03 is still in beta. Maybe wait untill it's official.
I run gskill 2x32 cl30 6000 fine on my steel legend x670e on 6000. But mine have hynix chips, yours have micron chips. Do you use the ramslots mentioned in the manual for 2 dimms, which are A2 and B2 ? Your RTX 3060 works fine in your system ? I can't get both of my newest firmwared MSI/EVGA GTX 1070ti's to work in the pcie 5.0 slot. |

Official or not, these types of issues are unfortunately all too common when updating ASRock FW even with all components on the QVL and RAM installed as instructed. I've had similar problems on prior official FW versions as well. As far as my 3081TI goes, it runs fine.

That means the memory is not stable, not the problem of the BIOS. You can run the memtest for a longer time and I'll bet there will be an error.

You can run as an admin "sfc /scannow". Probably there are corrupted files.

@tim73
Memory passes Win diagnostics and corrupt files are the three common bluetooth files that SFC reports as corrupt that are even there on a fresh install. Been down this road many times with updating this MB's FW. Seems when new FW is released, ASRock drops support for memory on the QVL as other threads note as well. This box runs solid on 1.3AS05, and I won't try another FW update knowing the very buggy history with ASRock updates. |
