On my x570 Steel Legend with a Ryzen 5950 CPU I have a problem booting with both an MSI 4080 Super and a Mellanox ConnectX-3 in the x16 slots.
With only the MSI card the system boots just fine. When I plug the ConnectX-3 into the other x16 slot the system stops with the VGA LED on. I tried setting the PCIe lanes to 1x8, 2x4, without success. When I pull the Mellanox card the system boots normally. The Mellanox card works by itself with an older graphics card (GTX-980). Is this a BIOS issue or is there a fundamental problem with the RTX and an x4 card? Thanks! |

Forgot to add, the RTX of course is Gen 4, the Mellanox is Gen 3 PCIe

It works with the Mellanox in an x1 slot. Not ideal, but at least a temporary solution. I'd still appreciate any insight.
