I have to press the power button 3 times to get the motherboard to boot. It works after it boots up.
each time the fan spins for a tiny bit and shutdown third press and it works
H97M PRO4 what I've done got bios 2.20 removed battery for a minute tried the cmos clear jumper brand new power supply (even the old one was working...) swapped power and rest buttons (same thine still takes 3 tries) So I think its broken unless someone has a hint? |

This might be a power problem (lack thereof). If the PSU is barely adequate to support the system when it is running, the boot process may be pulling more power than the PSU can deliver from a cold start and only after a few tries has enough residual power in its capacitors. Is the new PSU a significant increase in power capability that matches whatever increases in power requirements the new build entails?

Dear joeb1355,
Greetings, this is ASRock TSD. Because our latest BIOS version on official website is P2.10, so please refer below link to upgrade latest BIOS P2.10 for trying again. Here's the SOP of Instant Flash: According to your question, we also provide some suggestions to verify: 1. Please enter the BIOS setup then press[F9] to load BIOS default setting to try. 2. Please clean the Goldfinger parts of memory and re-connect to the motherboard, make sure it has been installed correctly. 3. Remove the CPU and check if the CPU socket pin-bent. 4. Only install the necessary devices (CPU and one stick memory ) to check if the system can boot properly. 5. Only install one stick memory module to each DRAM slot by turns to try. 6. If possible, please install another memory module / CPU / PSU to verify. Thanks! All the best, ASRock TSD |
