The Crucial site has a tool that will say if it is compatible or not.

Hi there, I just bought a ab350m pro4 and a ryzen 3 2200g cpu, and would like to ask if the ram Crucial Ballistix Sport LT Red 8GB DDR4-2666MHz (BLS2C4G4D26BFSE) is compatible with the motherboard. I don t see it in any list, although the grey, wich is similar one (BLS2C4G4D26BFSB) only the colour is different, is on the list.
Should I try it, or should I exchange the ram, now that is still unwrapped?
What does it mean that the ram is not on the list, that motherboard won t even recognise it, or that I am not getting the full MHz of it, the 2666MHz?

Does this mean the ASRock X370 PRO4 I just bought from Newegg will accept my new AMD Ryzen 3 2200G without going thru the BIOS update? As Newegg tech told me?

Marked on the box "AMD Ryzen Desktop 2000 ready.

Little bit of a conundrum here.  Got my 4 sticks of G Skill Trident Z F4-3466C16Q-32GTZR 16-18-18-38 and now today I found there are 4 sticks of G Skill Trident Z F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR 16-16-16-36 for $5 more.  So this is faster memory with tighter timings for $5 more, right?

Just got the 4 sticks of 3466 today and was wanting to fire up the new box but now I have to wait for another 2 days for the 3600 memory.  I mean this is a no brainer right?  Faster memory 3600 vs 3466 with tighter timings 16-16-16-36 vs 16-18-18-38.  Would this not be a better selection as I have read that timings are everything when it comes to the Ryzen processor?

So another two days wait to fire up the new box and another RMA.  Good thing I do not have to pay return shipping or restocking....

So is this the better plan waiting for the newer memory with tighter timings?  Or will it really make a difference in the long run?  Like I said before, it has been 10 years since I built a box so I am pretty ignorant of what is going on in today's computer world.

Opinions?

I saw all that on Reddit also but I also saw comments indicating the information was not 100% accurate.  However considering that everyone seems to believe that these are Samsung B Die chips and are single sided and single rank, I decided to by as set of 4 sticks of this:  G. SKILL TridentZ RGB Series  32GTZR.

I still think that the two dual kits of Ripjaw V with consecutive serial numbers will work as well as the 2 dual kits of the Flare X with consecutive serial numbers will work as well.  I guess that the only way to know for sure is to try them.

Again, it has been over 10 years since I built a system and this UEFI vs BIOS seems to limit what you can do with the memory based on what I have seen.

I did query ASRock TS on whether they were able to get 4 sticks of 8 GB running and they said that they had tried " Corsair  Vengeance RGB DDR4-3466mhz 4x8 32GB we only able to runs at stable speed 3200mhz.  Memory still be able to post with 3333mhz but not so stable." so I do not know if any of this is worth doing.  Of course Corsair is not G Skill and I have had dealings with Corsair before and found that their memory claims fall short.
