X470 Fatality k4 gaming, R5 3600, Bios 3.40, CRUCIAL Ballistix Sport LT BLS2K8G4D30AESBK
The problem - memory does not overclock. The profile XMP is not accepted - it is possible to choose but it does not work. Manual overclocking does not work. The memory is set to 2400 and does not change in any way. Before him was a processor R5 2600x, BIOS 1.90 and 3.20 all good - ram overclock to 3333 CL16 |

Hello,
I am noob, so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I bought new Ryzen CPU and Asrock X570 Pro4 Motherboard. Now I am wondering which RAM to buy. I looked upon RAM support list: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X570%20Pro4/#MemoryPR And I want to buy the following ram: Crucial BLS8G4D32AESBK It's 8 GB module. Can I buy two such modules (2x 8 GB) and run them as 16 GB no problem? |

I run almost the same (16 GB sticks, they are just 2-rank instead of 1-rank 8 GB), 4 sticks at 3600 MT/s with even tighter timings than 3200 MT/s XMP, they are awesome for the price.

I'm having trouble getting my system stable with my memory kit, which is on ASRock's QVL list.
Here are my systems specs: Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi. BIOS: v2.7. CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X. RAM: 64GB of HyperX Fury 3600 Mhz HX436C17PB3K4/64. GPU: MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio. System Drive (NVMe Gen4): 2TB Corsair Force MP600. Here are the details of my memory problems: - ASRock's QVL list says that this memory kit is Samsung B-die, but CPU-Z and Thaiphoon Burner say that my memory is Micron J-die. (Either there is a mistake in ASRock's QVL list or Kingston produce at least 2 versions of this kit, one with Samsung B-die and one with Micron J-die, and they use the same product code for both, so there is no way to tell which type of die any kit uses until you buy it and check it.) - The memory doesn't work correctly when I have all 4 modules installed. Sometimes my system won't boot, and sometimes it crashes. Memtest86's Test 8 shows some errors. - The memory works correctly with both the 3600 Mhz XMP profile and the JEDEC standard frequency (2400 Mhz) and timings when any of the modules are installed in either Slots A2 or B2 or both A2 and B2 slots, and I get no errors in Memtest86. - My system won't boot if the memory is set to the 3600 Mhz profile and any of the modules are installed in either Slots A1 or B1 or both A1 and B1 slots. It will boot if the memory is set to the JEDEC standard (2400 Mhz) and timings in these slots, but I will get some errors in Memtest 86's Test 8. - I have tried BIOS v2.1, and these problems still persist. - I have had my motherboard replaced, and these problems still persist. TL; DR: The memory works in Slots A2 and B2, but it doesn't work in Slots A1 and B1. |

The official support for Ryzen 3000 is only up to 3200 MT/s with 2 single rank sticks. Since you have 64 GB, I assume it's dual-rank, and official support for 4 sticks of dual-rank memory is only 2667 MT/s. I don't mean so say it's impossible to run at faster speeds, I have 4 dual-rank Micron e-die sticks running at 3600 MT/s overclock (they are rated at 3200), but I spent quite awhile tinkering to get this setup stable. Just dialing in XMP profile might not be enough, unfortunately. Since you have the system booting with 4 sticks at 3600, there's a good chance you can get them stable. Try running Ryzen Memory Calculator and dialing in the settings it recommends manually, including SoC and VDDP voltage. I run 1v SoC and 0.8v VDDP, which is actually lower than what "auto" sets. Then you can try increasing timings (bumping tRCD RD/WR is a good start IMO), or decreasing the frequency to 3533, 3466 and so on. Third option, if you still can return the memory, try some other kit or maybe even another set of the same SKU to see if you get more lucky.
