    Posted: 29 Mar 2018 at 1:25pm
I just upgraded my asrock x370 Taichi motherboard to 4.6 bios.Although i can get into windows i have the weird issue of no video output until windows is loaded so i cant get into the bios to modify stuff.

Im wondering if anyone has any ideas, ive tried plugging my screens into a bunch of ports to no avail aswell as clearing the cmos.

Any help would be appreciated

What model is your video card? Sounds like an old video card without a GOP driver in its BIOS. Try a newer video card. There's also a setting to enable CSM and force legacy video output among other legacy settings, but obviously you need to get in the bios for that

What ssateneth said, you will need to use a GoP capable GPU to go into the UEFI and enable CSM legacy support for the GPU. Once you have done that you can go back to your original GPU and all should be well.

That is very odd, what make and model is the GPU?

If you soft restart (from OS) can you get the UEFI to pull up then? I have had the UEFI not display on my GTX 960 but all I needed to do was switch display outputs to get it back. Have you tried all your display output options?

It would be very helpful if we could get you into the UEFI somehow so we can get a look at your CSM settings. The 1080ti should have the latest GoP implementation so something else is going on here.

And restarting from within the OS then trying to enter the UEFI?

If you could provide your full system specs too, that would be helpful.

I did try what you recommended as well as using the Asrock boot to uefi tool but none worked.

The summary i was getting from HWinfo was pretty big and the forums didnt allow me to post it.

I've uploaded to google drive for viewing.

Also, i was able to enter the bios just with a black screen

Also i've upgraded the bios throughout the year and never had this issue before only on this version at 4.6 Even the 2.x -> 3.3 bios upgrade before going to 4.6 was fine

Did you upgrade to 4.4 before upgrading to 4.6?
