Dear Yolenzo,

Thank you for contacting ASRock.

When i7-7820X installed, X299 Taichi XE's PCIE1/PCIE2/PCIE3/PCIE5 will run at x16/x0/x8/x0 or x8/x0/x8/x8.

So you can use 3 PCIE card at the same time.

X299 Taichi XE supports 10 SATA 3 connectors and 3 M.2 slots.

If M2_1 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_1 will be disabled.

If M2_2 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_0 will be disabled.

If M2_3 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_7 will be disabled.

For more detail specification, please check with following link.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

In other words, no, you can only use 3 PCIe devices with that CPU/board combo, at least according to the manual/specs.

I would ditch the 120gb SSD and replace it with a SATA or M.2 drive.

Excellent job with illustrating your question in the image. Very clear and easy to follow Thumbs Up
