lowdog - how are you testing stability to get that voltage? I run at 3.9 at 1.25v, and can benchmark at 4.1@1.35v, but never attempted to run long term at that voltage.. My system has been running for a month or so at 3.9 with a couple vm's running on it (as you can see in my sig.. I'm light on ram)

Stilts settings below. "IMO >= 30min of Prime95 v28.10 with following settings should be set as the criteria: Torture test > Custom > Min FFT size = 128, Max FFT size = 128, Run FFTs in-place ticked." 30 mins probably minimum I'd guess and this would be a start before other test were done. LoL, chill mate... like I've said -- we need to wait for one or two weeks max and then it will hopefully be "THE golden BIOS" that we get.

The 6 beeps when in XMP mode was fixed since beta 1.92, look here: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=6050&PID=41564&title=x370-f-pro-gaming-vs-x399-fpg-worse-ram-compat#41564

@SoniC
Can you please let me know what HWiNFO64 is showing for your +12V under the ASRock X399 Professional Gaming (Nuvoton NCT6779D) tab please. Mine is reading 12.091 idle and 11.986v load with Prime95 blend on my X399 yet on X370 it was reading 12.250V.....perhaps the TR4 system is putting a heavier load on the 12V rail? Just wanted to check what your PSU 12V was outputting to make sure mine isn't on the way out.....though I would hope not as it's only a few years old. |

lowdog :
in idle on +12V Rail / NCT6779D : current min max average 12.038 12.038 12.091 12.042 under prime/blend : 12.091 12.038 12.091 12.045 (sometimes under load the current is going back to 12.038) So... uhm... yeah... :) Mine is rock-stable with nearly the same output under load and idle. P.S. I'm off till sunday, so peace guys and don't blow your X399 rigs ;-)

Sorry, I'm using UEFI v2.0. It doesn't contain the 6-beep XMP boot fix.

Well trying it all both dram calculator and increasing SOC volts for 3200Mhz and system has become a little more stable but ultimately it still falls over no idea where to go from here other than hope a bios update helps. Update: silly me I hadn't adjusted the settings RTTNOM, RTTWR and RTTPARK as prescribed by dram calculator in bios with bios 2.0...??I'm trying the new beta now and just changed these values according to dram calculator and system is showing better stability @ 3200MHz after changing them so same might apply to bios 2.00 as well Edited by lowdog - 12 May 2018 at 3:52pm |
