    Posted: 14 Aug 2018 at 10:16am
I am getting three beeps from my motherboard (ASRock AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac) when I reboot it. It goes through about 4-5 cycles of this where the fans start and stop before it will POST. Can someone tell what I need to check to resolve this issue?

I believe I resolved the issue by turning off AM4 Advanced Boot Training. I had it set to Auto. Was this a bad move on my part or should I leave it turned off as this has resolved my beep and fan issue at boot startup?

well its upto you but those 3 beeps and reboot were telling you its not happy with its settings (probably the ram xmp at 3200) and its now set them to 2133 and all stock bios settings
so ......are you happy buying 3200 ram and using it at 2133 ?

I'll take a look at my settings after boot up and see what they are set to. Bottom line I need my PC to be stable and if its complaining about the speeds for my ram chips, then I need to listen.

the usual way is too manually adjust the timings and settings for ram and still run 3200 or even more

its not too complicated when you use the ryzen dram calculator

the problem is the inability of amd/asrock bios to use the xmp settings based on intel

or option b is is to set the ram to 2666/2933 after loading xmp (the lazy way), it should handle that ok

edit

are your trident z 3200 cl14 cl15 or cl16 ?

im guessing cl16 and not using the samsung b dies

if they are indeed cl16 you might still be left with no other option but to select 2666 or 2933

if they are cl14 or 15 then you should with a little effort get them solid at 3200

as datonyb said best first find out what chips your kits are using. You can find out with either googling the serial or loading Thaiphoon

lets just hope he's on not the CL16 kits those are a mix of sammy D/E & hynix A/M dies

yep thats the cl16 stuff thats sold a shedload due to the half informed rumour that gskill 3200 is ryzen friendly
its the 3200
15/15/15/ or 14/14/14 thats the b dies

you can maybe with effort get the 3200 cl16 working with the ryzen dram calculator
or settle for 2933 or 2666
