Thanks Xaltar. I've put together my old rig for the time being, with the good additions being the 2TB m.2 and 7800XT. I've also submitted an RMA request to AMD, as I'm completely stumped on if this is board or proc. Hopefully I find it out through the processes of both ASRock and AMD.

Regarding such, are you aware the turn-around time on these technical requests at ASRock? Any chance of an average wait time on response? I understand if you don't know or aren't privy to that information.

Thanks again for the support.

Try using bios version n1.28 or 1.30, I had a similar cold boot problem where I would get just a blank screen and have to hit the reset button. Going to the earlier bios versions solved it.

Sorry for the not-much-of-a-necro necro. Have an update as I finally had some time to put everything back together. I got the Ryzen 7700 RMA'ed through AMD, and received a brand new 7700 CPU in box in its place. Just put it all back together yesterday. At first I was having phantom issues, thinking "oh, there's no way things could still be bad". Well, sadly, I was wrong. I saw minor stuttr and tired to shake it as the above, so I rebooted. The new processor is noticeably better. I was able to properly OC my DDR5 6000 to the rated speeds with no issue, Prime95 running through multiple tests with no failures whatsoever. Another ~7+ hours upon that 2nd boot of pretty heavy gaming (A StoryWealth Fallout 4). This morning, however, I decided I'd boot up and head back to sleep to see for the cold boot stability. Upon waking ~1hr later, I noted the USB dropouts were back, and Event Viewer reporting Bluetooth crashes and the driver being unloaded. Okay, I've seen that before, and I don't have to use BT. Physically removed the BT adapter, and I'm on the first "hot" boot, so I'm still keeping an eye, and will check for stability next cold boot.

Also, still have heard absolutely nothing from ASRock except for the auto-response. Looks like I'll be jumping ship to another reputable brand. Two PG Riptide boards in a row with these issues. I really though I had it whittled down to the CPU. Thought maybe the first CPU was "damaged" from the bent pins on the first board. Just... UGH. Really getting tired of this.

Necroing my own thread.

I was able to get the Ryzen 7700 replaced via RMA from AMD. However the freezing and USB stuttering was still occurring. I was able to properly clock my RAM to 6000MT/s which was nice, but the issue came back within the typical 5-10 min period, was to say the least was disappointing. I submitted a 3rd request to ASRock support, so hopefully any info I missed or whatever is able to be looked at.

Thank you to all who assisted me so far with this.

Hello @linkinkampf19.

Any news? Are you still having this situation?

I am, unfortunately, having the same issue, as discussed in this thread:

https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=27225&PN=1&title=asrock-b650-pg-usb-issues

I'm also very glad, and impressed, with all the testing you've made and shared, it really helped.

Throughout this painful journey, I realized most of the USB problems were happening while watching youtube videos, even though I would game for hours previously, trouble-less. Though recently, in a problem-free hours long gaming session, I booted up spotify while playing and 10 min later, it happened.

My last attempt was to RMA the motherboard, to no effect.

Right now, I'm writing on windows 11 safe mode, testing, with no issues. Like you described.

I'm inclined to believe it is some VERY finicky driver associated with either these last gen Radeon 7's cards or some MOBO - CPU interfacing, because strangely, when all my USB ports would stop working the video playing ALSO stopped, as well as spotify would go mute and require a restart, even when my audio had already come back.

I'm aimless.

Hey Cronista... So unfortunately the issue was only resolved by swapping out the motherboard completely. After getting back the processor from an RMA with AMD, I did try one last time as noted above, but the issue persisted, rather disappointingly so, as this was now 4 months of troubleshooting. I ended up going with a Gigabyte Aorus B650M mobo, and lo and behold, everything's worked near flawlessly. I say near because I did have a few hiccups afterwards, but nothing compared to what I dealt with the AsRock board. Was not a fan of having to drop another ~$200 on a board, but so is life. I still have the defective board, but since I never heard from AsRock proper, it's rather moot. From back when Xaltar chimed in, he did mention that the support team was hoping to help me but could never find my emails, which was confusing as I had attempted contact 4 times both via their submission form and direct emails.

Heh, at least my AsRock RX 7800XT is still working wonderfully. Wish I could have offered a better ending to this rigamarole :/

Hi @linkinkampf19

I understand. I'm trying to contact ASRock as well. For a while, I thought I'd fixed it by removing my headset, suspecting the firmware, but after a week it happened again. I don't think my retailer is going to accept replacing it for another brand, paying the difference. I say this because the mobo is quite a lot more expensive here. I can't buy another one right now.

Thanks for the follow-up and best of luck to you my friend.

Same problem here and thanks for your work. I'm not on an Asrock motherboard so I would pin the problem with AMD and possibly AGESA. As a result I probably will not RMA anything and will potentially replace the motherboard if future AGESA updates don't fix it.
