Hi all, this is my first post here-- hopefully I can get some insight to why this is going on.
I just got finished building a custom build. I am using an H510TM-ITX motherboard. Everything works as expected, but there's one small problem-- I was trying to install Intel HAXM, but it won't install-- apparently, Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x, not VT-d) isn't working. It told me that "my computer didn't support Intel VT-x or it was being used by Hyper-V". Hyper-V is disabled. According to Task Manager, virtualization is enabled... https://imgur.com/r0Rjl94 and the BIOS affirms that... https://imgur.com/HKvo5s3 but when I run Intel Processor Identification Utility, it says that it's not supported/enabled. https://imgur.com/LHG4Elu The processor I'm using is an Intel Pentium Gold G6500. I've had HAXM install on older processors (like, 3rd gen, 9th gen, etc.) but it doesn't make sense to me why it's refusing to install on here. Last year I bought an H370M-ITX/ac motherboard which I used an Intel Pentium Gold G5420 with, and virtualization ran just fine on there, no hiccups. How can I fix this? Please lt me know, and as always, thanks in advance. |

UPDATE: It turns out that Core Isolation was enabled via Windows Security, which is what made HAXM think Hyper-V was enabled and what made Intel Processor Identification Utility think that virtualization was disabled/unsupported. I disabled it and everything's been in working order since then.
