Can we get a board like the Z890 Taichi OCF for AMD users PLEASE? I want a "memory oc shield" too!

Honestly, all these 4 dimm boards is some kind of engineering/consumer-misunderstanding fiasco.. you guys clearly know 2 dimms works much better! And what percent of consumer do you think want/need 4 dimm slots??

Other than the appparently upcoming B850i lightning, does ASRock have no plans of any other 2 dimm 800 series AMD boards? I'm not seeing any listed on official/unofficial leaks of upcoming boards.

This is a sad state of affairs. From my research, the ONLY full size AM5 board with 2 dimms is going to be the Asus x870e Apex... north of $700.. ridiculousness.

If we can't get an OCF board, can you at least re-make the RS Pro or Nova with just 2 dimms (with or without some memory pathway shielding like the OCF board gets)?

I'm 100% sure this would be you highest selling AM5 motherboard going forward.

We already know either Zen6 or Zen5+ is on the way... Of course 8000mhz memory speed is going to be the baseline.... So, we will need boards that can do 9000+ so we can push the memclock beyond advertized speed, of course, lol. And all these 4 Dimm boards are topping out at 8000-8400... :(

Buying a new 800 series motherboard now for a 9000 series AMD chip with the thought of being future-proof can't be done with these dumb 4 DIMM boards... it seems like no one gets this. :(

Can someone from ASRock please reply and tell me you guys understand the situation and have at least one 2 DIMM board headed our way? Or roll us out a CAMM2?

Thanks!

I highly doubt ASRock will answer. Product development is typically top secret

You're probably right, just hoping at least someone from ASRock might see the post and maybe they'll consider giving us an OCF for AMD.

Of course, it was only leaked information I saw suggesting the only 2 dimm board ASRock has planned is the b850i lightning... maybe they are being asked by AMD to wait for releasing an OCF.. similarly like Asus is waiting for January and the B850 boards with their Apex.

That's what i'm hoping at least. Also, the more people post about wanting a decent 2 dimm board for overclocking, the more likely we'll get one I figure.

Hello!

While, that's true that there are not many 2 DIMM AM5 motherboards, saying that there's only one, from Asus, out there, is ridiculous!
You'll have to do more research on this!

An example of such configuration is the Gigabyte B670E Aorus Tachyon.
(Actually, all Aorus Tachyon boards use the 2 DIMM configuration, as far as I know).

I'm talking about 800 series boards which are also not ITX form factor. Currently there are ZERO.

Hi!

There's nothing special about the 800 series motherboards.
AMD's 600 & 800 series are almost identical!
One difference is that on the 800 series, USB4 has been made mandatory.
Though high-end 600 series motherboards also have USB4 ports (mine does).

I see a lot of people say similarly, but the 800 series boards (almost all of them) have memory speeds supported listed as 8200-8400+

I even saw a post of someone with b650e Tachyon saying Gigabyte seems to be limiting the memory speeds purposely via Bios code.

Sure there's a few b650i, but I don't want to put a 12 or 16 core 9000 series (or upcoming CPU coming next year) into a b650i with weak VRM. So that leaves only the x670e Gene, which they stopped making :(

idk friend, maybe there's a board you are referring to that I don't know about..?

I just want a decent-priced (even up to $500-600), overclock-friendly 2 dimm board, full size ATX, with decent VRM.. but I sure can't find one!
